The Era of Tea Cake

The story of Annie Taylor was in the same situation Janie was in. Annie Taylor had left the top and sold her house and took all her money to go with a guy she loved. She thought he loved her back as well. The Guy was younger than Annie. But after few weeks the guy stole all her money and left her at the strange place. Annie found her way back to Eatonville and from than own townspeople think if you go away with a guy you will end up in the same situation as Annie Taylor. Townspeople often related this story to Janie's life because Janie is in the same situation as Annie Taylor and people thing Janie will come back to Eatonville with all her money stolen just like Annie. I think Janie will end up in the same place as Annie because in the beginning of  the movie Janie comes back to Eatonville.

I would feel Degrading because someone is kicking me out of place because I am ugly would definitely make me mad but I also find one thing funny than Tea Cake is giving money for these people to go out. I would just take the money and leave because I will be $2 richer.

I think Muck symbolizes Janie's freedom because now she can talk, laugh and listen to others talk without someone telling her to got to house and cook.  She feels free and she can now take part in the community and talk silly with others. Tea Cake doesn't mind Janie doing all that.

Nunkie is a girl who works at he filed and pick beans just like Tea Cake and Janie. Nunkie has a crush on Tea Cake and she often tries to get his attention by touching him and falling so that Tea Cake would come help her up. Once she went as far as stealing something from Tea Cake's shirt so he would run after her and took him in the Sugar cane field. She is important because she makes Janie jealous, something Janie has never felt before. Therefore, she gets mad at Tea Cake and tries to hit him but Tea Cake doesn't not give up on his love for Janie and Janie soon realizes that how deeply she is in love with Tea Cake.
